driving songs…
One thing about Roatan is there isn’t much driving… at least not flat out and not at night.
Roatan is an island with one main road that’s two lanes (though it is getting an upgrade.)
While the island is in the neighborhood of 30 miles long… your max speed is going to be 40… and your average is going to be 15… That means you are going to have a lot of time to listen to the radio… We cover the entire island… which is pretty cool… going 30 miles is likely to take you an hour and a half…
I do miss the US highways in Southern California… (or as I like to call it LoCal… there’s nothing “southern” about Southern California… I did plenty of runs from LA to San Diego. There is a speed limit… but I don’t remember seeing the cops enforcing it… So I’d turn up the radio and roll on down the highway…
Radio and driving goes together… Like Rum and Coke… Jenny and Forrest… Soft Clouds and a Full Moon…
Especially when it’s just you and the radio…
I think my FAVORITE DRIVING song is Golden Earring’s RADAR LOVE…
I've been drivin' all night, my hands wet on the wheel
And there's a voice in my head that drives my heel
It's my baby callin', sayin' I need you here
And it's a half past four and I'm shiftin' gear
When she is lonely and the longing gets too much
She sends a cable coming in from above
Don't need no phone at all
We've got a thing that's called radar love
We've got a wave in the air
Radar love
How do you top that ?
Ok… maybe you can… Tell me your favorite Driving Song…
Maybe I’ll do a show about them… What do you think?
